Preparation instructions for heating MallowCreme®
For a single pouch:
Microwave
Microwave on HIGH for 2 minutes to start. Please keep in mind that when microwaving pouches it is a good idea to vent the pouch by either clipping off the corner or making a small slit in the top of the pouch. We suggest heating the pouch in a microwavable bowl. As all microwaves require different heating times, we suggest a final temperature between 145º – 165ºF.
Handle hot bags with care. As all microwave ovens vary, times given are approximate.
For several pouches:
Warm Water Bath
Immerse in hot water 185ºF (85ºC) until the product reaches between 145º – 165º F (depending on the amount of water and how many pouches being heated at one time, estimated heating time is roughly 3-5 minutes). Make sure that there is a wire rack or some other barrier between the pouch and the metal sides of whatever item being used to heat the water. If pouches touch the metal sides, they may melt and tear open during heating. Handle hot bags with care. Do not boil the pouches.
Steamer
Line a tray with pouches. Set steamer to 150ºF if there is a temperature control. Otherwise heat product 10-12 minutes
until the product reaches between 145º – 165º F. Handle hot bags with care.
CAUTION – CONTENTS WILL BE HOT AFTER HEATING. HANDLE CAREFULLY.
Preparation instructions for crispy rice cereal bars using MallowCreme™
Depending on the desired yield, these guidelines have been established for using MallowCreme®:
For a thinner bar with a yield of an 18″x13″ pan at approximately 1 ¼” thick:

As MallowCreme is being heated, spray a large mixing bowl, sheet pan and spatulas with Vegalene Premium Food Release Spray. Pour crispy rice into the bowl. See specific instructions above for preparation of one pouch or of several pouches.
Pour heated MallowCreme® over the cereal and incorporate the MallowCreme® with spatula. Using an automatic mixer may crush the cereal. Pour mixture onto a greased baking sheet and spread evenly, as usual. Let cool approximately 2 hours before cutting.
